The Product Page Mistakes Killing Your Sales
The product page is where the sale is won or lost. Here are the mistakes we see over and over — and what the winning pages do instead.

The homepage gets the attention. The product page gets the money. And it's almost always the product page that's underperforming.
The mistakes that cost the sale
1. One tiny photo, no zoom
Buyers can't touch it, can't hold it. Photos are the entire tactile experience. Give them multiple angles, zoom, lifestyle shots, and a size reference — always.
2. A price without context
"€89" alone triggers hesitation. "€89 — free shipping, ships tomorrow, 30-day returns" removes it. Put the context beside the price, not five scrolls down.
3. The "Add to Cart" button is below the fold
If a visitor has to scroll to buy, you're losing impulse sales. Price, key info, and the buy button should be visible without scrolling on any device.
4. Reviews are hidden
Reviews should be summarised at the top (stars + count) and readable in full below the description. Not on a separate tab nobody clicks.
5. Descriptions read like a spec sheet
Bullet points about materials aren't enough. Tell the buyer what it feels like, what it solves, who it's for. Then list the specs.
6. No answer to the buyer's real question
Does it fit? When will it arrive? Can I return it? What if it breaks? The winning pages answer these directly on the product page, not in a footer FAQ.
"Every unanswered question on a product page is a closed tab. Answer them all above the fold and the sale closes itself."
The winning product page checklist
- 5+ photos including lifestyle and scale reference.
- Price, shipping, delivery date, and returns beside the buy button.
- Star rating + review count visible without scrolling.
- Two-line benefit description before any specs.
- Sticky Add-to-Cart on mobile.
- FAQ block directly on the page, not linked elsewhere.
Fix the product page and everything else in the funnel gets easier. Fix the funnel first and you're still stuck at the same conversion rate.
